Since 2015, we have produced the Sample Music Festival, which has grown into the leading international meeting point for finger drummers and turntablists. Built in Berlin as an annual flagship gathering, the festival connects diverse scenes around performance-based beat culture and has expanded internationally with editions in Dubai and Shanghai—strengthening its role as a global platform for exchange and collaboration.

The program combines competitive highlights with real community participation. Formats such as the Fingerdrumming World Championship and high-level scratch battles attract top talent and set benchmarks for technical skill, musicality, and innovation. Alongside the competitions, product showcases and hands-on presentations allow brands to demonstrate instruments and performance technologies where they matter most: inside real sets, battles, workshops, and artist workflows.

What sets Sample apart is its broader cultural contribution. Through an integrated symposium, we invited scholars, scientists, and field experts to contextualize finger drumming and turntablism within music theory and contemporary research—linking practice with discourse and helping legitimize these disciplines as evolving performance arts.
